Zhong Zhang

Bio

Zhong Zhang is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow under the supervision of Prof. Francesco Topputo. He received his B.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2019 and 2024, respectively. His doctoral advisors were Prof. Junfeng Li and Prof. Hexi Baoyin. His research focuses on integrating artificial intelligence techniques with astrodynamics, particularly in the areas of trajectory optimization and optimal control. His Ph.D. dissertation was recognized with the Tsinghua University outstanding doctoral dissertation award. Zhong led the team that won the 11th Global Trajectory Optimization Competition (GTOC) and subsequently served as the organizer of GTOC12, including designing the competition challenge.
